Maine Review

I’ve been back from Acadia National Park for about a week and beginning to develop a new body of work from that trip. We had a great time in Bar Harbor, the park, and a couple of nights spent with good friends who have a house in Maine.

Our first 7 nights were spent at the Holbrook House , a B&B in bar Harbor. Run by Michelle and Eric Allvin, we immediately felt at home. Our accommodations were comfortable and the house was welcoming. Michelle and Eric are friendly and accommodating (they adjusted their menu for my daughter who is a vegetarian). The biggest problem I faced staying there is that Michelle made great breakfasts! So, how is that a problem you ask? Well, I’m up early to work sunrise light (4:30 AM) and normally would stay in the field until lunch. And, as unprofessional as it may be, I could not stay out later than 8:00 AM for fear of missing breakfast! These meals were different every day and were each probably the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. That was a big problem!

I am however, quite pleased with some of the work I did manage to do in Maine and will share it soon. For now, here’s a picture of one of those problematic breakfasts.

“Crossroads” Write-up

Having just returned from an extended trip to Acadia National Park, I am still catching up with messages and what else has been going on back here. One nice find was this wonderful write-up about the 2-person show I am currently doing with painter Richard Harrington at Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville, NJ. The article appeared in a special Friday supplement of The Times of Trenton

“Crossroads” A two-person show in Lambertville, NJ

I hung today my part of a two-person show I am doing with painter Richard Harrington. Come by Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville, NJ starting this Friday to see the exhibit, all works are for sale! Better yet, come by this Saturday between 5-8pm for our opening reception to meet us both and have some light refreshment or a glass of wine!

The title of our show is “Crossroads” and consists of works concerned with pathways, byways, roadways, and walkways. Richard’s work is more urban themed while mine of course deals with more natural settings.

I met today with an arts writer from The Times of Trenton to talk about our show for an article that should be out a week from this Friday. The image below is of one of the works I will have in the show. It is an image I made here in Bucks County and speaks to the pathways theme I’ve been developing over time.

Large 24x36" canvas print is part of the "Crossroads" show.

Pennsylvania Guild Show this weekend – Aug. 4-5

The Chase Center in Wilmington, DE is a great venue for a show and no one puts together a better show than the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen! I’ll be exhibiting and selling my work this weekend at the Chase Center and looking forward to seeing current collectors and meeting new ones as well.
