After 7 days at the festival it feels like a normal routine. Up at 6:00am, shower, dress, attach suspenders (alright this part doesn’t yet feel normal), get starbucked, drive turnpike to Rt78 to Rt737 (really pretty this morning) and get waved into the parking area of the festival grounds by a gentleman in overalls. With 2 more days left I’m not sure if I’ll be able to function normally on Monday without smelling funnel cakes, kettle popcorn, and hearing the bubble wagon go by at 8:30am.
The breeze blowing into building A was so nice that people stood in the doorway just to lift their arms and go “Aaaaah”. Amazing July weather here. Today’s first purchase was made by a woman who fell for “Fall
Yellows” an image of a Yellow-rumped Warbler in a crab apple. There is some controversy about my ID of the bird in this image. A young boy (10yrs old?), who I am told by his companion studies field guides, thinks I am wrong. It’s not impossible that I am wrong so if you know better than me please comment. My biology degree did not include a class in bird identification.
I’ll admit that the length of this show is wearing me down. Standing for more than 9 hrs a day for now seven straight days is taking a toll. I’m also used to doing some daily lite weight training or jogging and this stationary position I’m in all day makes me want to run around the block a few dozen times. But I am framing prints tonight instead and will probably not quit till tomorrow (12:05am is still tomorrow right?). Then I’ll wake up later tomorrow and ………well, I think you know what I’ll be doing.
