I had trouble reconciling that today was July 1. The temperatures this morning were cool and some festival visitors seemed down right cold. The weather was perfect and the crowds took advantage. Today’s first purchase was of Road to Jenne Farm, an image I made in Vermont a couple years back.
My sales today were not at the same level as yesterday’s, but put me in a good place for the end of day two. I am framing this evening as I had underestimated the demand for my image Blue Bird.
I’m not as tired as I was after coming home last night, maybe I’m just getting my “sea” legs (“show legs”?). I hope so, as there’s still seven days left. This Kutztown Festival is also a “Dogs on Parade” as everyone with any kind of canine brings it/them to the show. I met several very cute and well behaved best-friends-of-man (none made a purchase however).
I also met a lovely red-haired girl and her family. This girl wants to be a nature photographer some day and I overheard her father explaining that the kind of imagery she was seeing in my booth could not be made with a “point and shoot” camera. He went on that the equipment needed is very expensive, to which she matter-of-factly replied to her father ”That’s where you come in”. It was great.
Tomorrow starts the weekdays part of the show, but if the weather holds up, it should be a fine day.
